Our Community Standards

What you need to know

We encourage you to comment on our website and share your tips, ideas and opinions

To make sure everyone feels welcome to be part of this community discussion, we insist on some basic standards of behaviour.

Be respectful. Challenging another person’s is acceptable; personal attacks are not.

Avoid bad language. You may think a word is mild but someone else may find it offensive.

Racist, sectarian, sexist, homophobic, transphobic and other hate-speech – or anything that could be interpreted as such – will not be tolerated.

All comments must be relevant to the page you are commenting on

Do not promote or solicit commercial goods or services, post website links or otherwise advertise a business.

Please do not share any personal information such as contact details or other private data – especially not other people’s.

Avoid contributions which might cause you or us legal problems. This includes, amongst other things, material that may be defamatory, in breach of copyright or invasive of privacy.

All comments are assessed. Any deemed by our moderators to breach the above standards or to be at odds in any other way with civil debate may be blocked or removed.
